Our Materials

At Belluno, every material is chosen with the same intention that guides every stitch. To last, to feel exceptional, and to improve with time. We source from the world's finest origins, working only with nature's most refined fibres and leathers.

Cashmere goats
A rare, traceable purity

Pure Cashmere

Sourced from Hircus goats across the Mongolian steppe, cashmere makes up a mere 0.2% of the world's total animal fibre. Among the rarest and most refined natural fibres known to man, it is valued above all for its unrivalled softness and warmth.

Each Belluno cashmere piece is traced from source to stitch. A commitment to purity that runs through every thread.

Unparalleled softness

The world's softest fibre

Cashmere is a thin layer of fine fleece that grows close to the skin of the Hircus goat, shed naturally each spring. Its exceptional fineness gives it a warmth-to-weight ratio that no synthetic material can replicate.

Often referred to as the gem of fibre and the soft gold of the steppe. A material that rewards patience, care, and intention.

Merino Mesh

The finest merino wool is sourced from New Zealand's high country, where cool mountain air and pristine pasture produce fibres of exceptional quality. Naturally temperature-regulating, breathable and incredibly soft against the skin.

In the Belluno Mesh Slip-On, merino is knitted into an open-weave upper that moves with the foot. Structured where it counts, weightless where it matters.

Structure in ease

The open weave

Selected for its natural breathability and resilience, the merino mesh upper forms a smooth, breathable surface with a calm matte texture. The open weave allows constant air circulation while preserving a soft, defined form.

Delivering lightweight comfort and composed movement throughout the day. A shoe that breathes as you move.

Naturally tanned in Italy

Italian Suede

Finished in one of Italy's finest tanneries, our suede is treated through a natural process that preserves the integrity of the hide while developing its characteristic depth of colour and whisper-soft touch.

Delicate but durable. The suede upper holds its silhouette over time, growing richer and more characterful with each use.

Precision in form

Chosen for its purity of grain and inherent strength, the suede shapes and stabilises the structure of each Belluno shoe. The rich, velvety finish enhances depth and definition, preserving its refined character and quiet elegance over time.

Unrivalled in appearance and colour intensity. A material that tells the story of where it came from.

"Every material we select carries a story. Of origin, of craft, of intention. At Belluno, the story begins long before the shoe."

Linen flax fields
A noble, natural fibre

Natural Linen

Woven from European flax grown in Normandy's fertile fields, where the perfect balance of minerals, water and sunlight produces the world's finest fibre. Cool to the touch and naturally breathable, linen is the ideal companion for warm days and warm climates.

One of the oldest fibres known to man. Refined over centuries, timeless in character.

Woven from the earth

A noble and ecological fibre

Linen requires no irrigation, no pesticides, and leaves no waste. Every part of the flax plant is used. In an age of excess, it is a material of rare restraint, grown with respect for the land that produces it.

Belluno linen is selected for its exceptional length, uniformity and fine colour grade. Qualities that translate directly into garments of lasting refinement.
